A century-old group with six companies and more than 800 SKUs
The story of Casa Valduga begins in 1875, when the Valduga family arrives in Brazil and plants its first vines in the Vale dos Vinhedos, in the Serra Gaúcha region. Over four generations the family winery became Grupo Famiglia Valduga, which today gathers six companies and brands of beverages, food and cosmetics.
Each brand has its own identity, and the portfolio exceeds 800 SKUs. Each SKU carries a set of technical information, artwork, regulatory requirements, internal approvals and exchanges with suppliers. Managing that volume takes control, a reliable history and communication between the teams.
Before: approvals by e-mail and scattered files
Most artwork approvals, technical materials and supplier requests went by e-mail. Files were scattered, conversations fragmented, and there was no central repository to tell what was approved, under review or being reworked.
Retrieving the history was slow, and a wrong version could circulate among the teams. Approvals took longer than needed, a reprint meant hunting for old information, and decisions were made on dispersed data. The pressure fell on R&D, Marketing and Quality.
Simple questions had no quick answer: what stage is this artwork at? Who has approved it? Which version is valid? Suppliers were part of the flow too, and exchanges without a structured channel raised the number of revisions.
The turning point: a supplier’s recommendation
The first contact with LinkFlow came from a Casa Valduga packaging supplier that already approved artwork on the platform. That experience sparked the interest in seeing how technology would solve the internal bottlenecks.
For the R&D team the need was clear: organize the flows, centralize the information and create a collaborative environment between the teams and the partners. The change stopped being an isolated project and became a step to sustain the group’s growth.
The central challenge was not just approving packaging. It was ensuring control, traceability and predictability across a wide portfolio, with several brands operating at the same time and no visibility of the status of each approval.
The solution: brands, packaging and approvals in one place
With LinkFlow, artwork, technical data, approval history and the materials of the different brands came to live in a single, organized environment with defined access. The dependence on scattered files ended, and the risk of inconsistency fell.
Approval flows were structured and automated: every stage is carried out the same way, with clear owners and predictability. The platform also began to show performance indicators of the processes, and the traceability of approvals brought more safety in a regulated environment.
Results reported by the team
The gains showed quickly for the teams involved:
- about 50% less time approving artwork for new packaging, which speeds up launches and reprints;
- information that no longer gets lost among e-mails, even with more than 800 SKUs, with less operational risk and less rework;
- more organization and flow between the teams: despite the initial complexity, the interface proved intuitive and adaptation was quick, external partners included.
What other industries can take from it
Technology stopped being a tool and became part of the company’s routine. With structured flows and reliable data, the group has a base for new products and for growing the portfolio without losing efficiency.
In the beverage industry, packaging weighs on regulatory compliance, on launch speed and on how the brand is perceived. When the portfolio grows and SKUs multiply, unstructured processes stop being a nuisance and become a risk. Casa Valduga’s experience shows that tradition and innovation go together.
“Today our packaging approval processes are faster, more organized and more transparent.”
